Bogie And The Bucket Of Shame

Was cleaning out my Macintosh G5 in preparation of making it a server. Came across these photos take in 2006, right after Bogie had surgery to remove a little growth that have formed just below his eye. Sad, sweet and a little bit funny now looking back at it!

Back To Sammamish River Trail

With all the snow we have had the last couple weeks, both Bogie and I were really aching to do some sort of trail walking action. I needed to go to Costco to load up on my “New Years Resolution Of Eating More Rabbit Food” and decided we would jump on the Sammamish River Trail for a little 3 mile gaunt.

The trail is very well maintained but doesn’t have that much eye candy. There were a lot of ducks in the creek but my pictures of them are so so. We do go right by the back end of the Red Hook Brewery and decided it would be a good place for a photo op.

Tough waking up this morning bogie?

No, I’m good!
So we were only out long enough for me to listen to two podcasts (Mac OS Ken Day 6 and the Buzz Report 2009 Predictions) but enjoyed it quite a bit. Good thing, because it snowed that night and then started raining the next day!

Alligator Soul

Friday night had dinner at Alligator Soul in Everett. Had this on my to do list for quite some time. They had moved to a new location (I guess) and it didn’t seem to have the ambiance inside that I expected. Looked like a quick decorating effort inside of a former Dennys restaurant. However, the food and beer were excellent!

I had the PECAN CRUSTED FISH .... according to the menu ...
Local fish encrusted with pecans and served over crushed corn cream sauce and smashed red bliss potatoes, topped with a celery root and Dungeness crab meat slaw. Southern cookin' at its finest! It was mighty tasty!

The beer I had was *MAUDITE STRONG RED ALE .... according to the menu ...
Unibroue, Quebec (named from the Legend of the Flying Canoe)
A lovely high-gravity Belgian style beer with hints of dark cherry, cognac and caramel. Rich, yet soooo... smooth. That was also quite tasty. Here is a link to their site!

It is raining / snow is melting

Well, it looks like all that is over with ... just a couple more pictures of the bogster to remember it by....

This is one of those green "caution children playing" dudes that stand about 3 feet tall, snow has just about covered him up!

Best Snow Frolic

Here is the best snow frolic of bogie thus far. Reminds me of a dolphin making its way through some surf.

Here is my truck and I removed some of the snow off of it already.

Here is my mailbox and you can see that the entire foot of snow on it is frozen at the bottom and gravity is sliding it off in one big piece.

Mac vs PC Transformers

A new YouTube Mac vs PC advertisement in the Transformers look and feel. I'm sure this is a portfolio piece for some very talented people.

Mrs Butterworth Makes An Appearance

It has been a couple days since my last post and yes, we still have more snow. Yesterday was the first day without any real accumulation but the entire Clearview area, in which I live, is pretty much shut down. The wonder dog continues to love it but even he is getting a “are you kidding me” look on his face as he tries to make it up the hill with its 18+ inches of snow.

As you can see, the roads are pretty packed with snow but absolutely beautiful in their blanket of snow.

Now my landlord and neighbor in the two unit town home I live in is a very creative fellow. He and his girlfriend were struggling to make a traditional snow man in this type of snow and have to resolve to using the bucket full of snow technique. Their creative urges blossomed and turned into a Mrs Butterworth sculpture in the back yard.

Oh and here is another video of Bogie totally getting into our morning walk. Now I have to say the camera I’m putting the camera right in front of my mouth as I’m filming. So I don’t really sound like Darth Vader breathing in real life ... or ... do I?
