Centennial Trail (Pilchuck Trailhead)

So I have done the Centennial Trail approximately 80 times in the last three years. There are some northern parts of it that I haven’t ventured yet and thought this would be a good series trail related blog posts.

So this post regards the Pilchuck Trailhead on the Centennial Trail and starts just under 2 miles into the trail. If you turn right at the trail head, you will arrive in Snohomish. It would be great if the trail could go all the way to downtown Snohomish but I don’t think that is planned.

The trail head has a nice display of information about the Centennial Trail. Mainly that the trail is a converted railroad train track route.

Right up from the parking area, you can see how nicely done the trail is and a favorite of walkers, runners and bicyclists.

A couple hundreds yards down, you will see the bridge and there is an area you can take your dog down to the river. Early spring it is a bit fast for a puppy but the rest of the year it is fine. This is a favorite stop for Bogie and we have to stop every time we do the trail. There are a lot of water tubers that float down the river in the summer and this is a launching point for them.

So it is about 3 miles from the Pilchuck Trailhead to the Macias Trailhead (six miles round trip). I’ll cover that trailhead later. I’ll leave you with a picture of Bogie after we did the trip on one warm day.
