Saint Edwards Trail - Washington State
There are a number of ways to get to the Saint Edwards State Park but being northeast of its location, I always drive into Kenmore via 522 and turn left on to Juanita Drive. In fact, right after you make the turn on to Juanita, you pass over the Burke-Gilman Trail. There is plenty of parking at the former Catholic seminary turned State Park. The trails are dog friendly and one whole side of the park is bordered by Lake Washington.
At the start of North Trail. It really isn't that dark.
Bogie With Lake Washington to his back.
Lately I’ve been parking on the back side of the park by the entrance to the North Trail. We take the North Trail down to the lake. After a dip in the lake (for the dog), we head up the Grotto trail. This is somewhat steep and a nice view going up. This trail ends on the former seminary lawn, just to the left is said Grotto and just up the way from there is the Seminary trail that takes you back again.
Bogie at the grotto.
Bogie inspects the lake one more time, perhaps play with the other dogs that might be in the area until we head up the east side South Ridge Trail. This is also a little steep and we then meet up with the Water Tower Trail, so we take this back up to the former seminary lawn. Cutting across the lawn, we check out everyone else enjoying a great day before we end back to the car.
Back for another dip in the lake.
Here we are back on the great lawn of Saint Edwards State Park.
