Early December At St Eds With Brenda & Bogie

On a Saturday, Brenda had to inspect a property for work and the wonder dog and I tagged along. We stopped by one of our old stomping grounds of St. Eds. We didn't make it down the Lake Washington trail but one of the smaller side trails.

Probably the last set of pictures with Panasonic DMC-ZS7 as it starting to freak out occasionally. I think there may still be some Oregon Coast sand in the lens mechanism from last year. I'm really hard on a camera and this one has lasted longer than any of my previous cameras by far.

Port Townsend / Fort Warden On October 13th

Brenda needed to make a business trip to Port Townsend and we decided to make a family day out of it. We started off in downtown Port Townsend and walked up and down the main street a few times shopping. 

 

If you notice the building in the background, it has an old painted Bull Durham advertisement just like the movie!

 

Bogie did a double take on this pooch before realizing it was safe to take a drink.

September 14th Hike Of Angel's Rest

Brenda, Bogie and I headed down to Coos Bay Oregon last weekend to participate in the Steve Prefontaine Memorial Run. It's quite a drive for a long weekend excursion, so we stopped just outside of Portland for a quick hike.

 

There really are not that many hiking options I found in my two hiking books along I5 in Oregon and Angel's Rest is only reasonable one that allows dogs on the trail.

 Still, you certainly cannot complain about the view and this hike was just about perfect for break in the 7 hour drive to Coos Bay.

Sunday Hike At Perry Creek

This hike was profiled in this months Washington Trails  magazine as a pretty fall hike. The leaves were just beginning to turn and it is sad to report that my camera didn't capture the beauty of this hike. I have to find an alternate camera for cloudy days.

On our way up, Bogie found a few nice watering holes. It turned out that I didn't need to bring as much water as we did but better safe than sorry!

Our first view point came right before the meadow. There was an old campfire there from someone's overnight stay. I'm not too shy to say I'm a little bit jealous of those folks, waking up in the morning to this view!

Descending down into the meadow, you can see bogie just beginning to roll into the sweet meadow grass.

We enjoyed a quick lunch but it was very chilly on top and we didn't prepare for that, so back down again for the alternate view of the trail!

Here you can see that our legs were getting a little "punchy" on the way back down through some of the rocky parts.

How sweet, bogie is offering to drive us home, decided to let him sleep in the back seat instead.
