Bogie (the wonder dog) DNA Test Results

As a Christmas present, I received one of those mail in DNA testing kits for dogs. This one was from a company called BioPet Vet Lab. According to them, Bogie is part Chinese Shar-Pei, part Cocker Spaniel and part German Shepherd. So now I’m thinking my dog was conceived by some bizarre three way sex party that went horribly awry.

Had an afternoon appointment in Carnation so took the wonder dog to do a quick little hike on Little Mount Si. Not a bad day for it.



The view was nice going up and the volunteers have done a great job on the trail in the off season.

Although it was in the 50s, I started off with a sweatshirt over my sweater for awhile. I had a little bit of sweat on me and Bogie could resist getting in a few licks when I was down at his level.


Nice views and was a nice little 3 hour excursion on a work day. Sometimes self employed doesn’t suck, even in a down economy.

First 2010 Hike - Barlow Point

Had decided on Friday that weather would not stop me (or the wonder dog) from our first Mountain Loop Highway hike of 2010. Turns out, the weather was the best it had been in weeks. Barlow Point isn’t an intimidating hike, probably under 3 miles round trip but it is a nice steady uphill trek.




Sun was out until we were about 20 minutes from the point but still had some nice pictures to share. We didn’t encounter any snow until the last 20 minutes or so either (come to think about it). All in all, a nice teaser for a hiking season to come!

Turbo And Bogie

Since the weather has been crappy, I’ve been spending my time either working or studying for the PMP exam. So no trails or other goodness but I did dog sit for the neighbor a month or so ago. I was using my camera to record a demo of my quiz product running on my iPhone and totally forgot I had snapped some pictures during the turbo sleep over. Thought I’d share
