Thanksgiving 2008: The Great Cat Lookout

Bogie is absolutely fascinated by cats! My brother helped instill this passion with the classic “Get The Kitty” coaching during the times he baby sat Bogie for me. He doesn’t want to hurt them in any way and will run away terrified if they take a swipe at him. This week we traveled down to Redding California to visit my cousins and do a proper family Turkey Day. Here you can see Bogie on the lookout for the Oberlander family of cats.

Monday Morning At Twin Falls

Got up early and we went to the Twin Falls State Park right off of Interstate 90. My camera had dead batteries! So these are the pictures I took with the iPhone.

Sunday At Whidbey

Next up on Rachel’s visit from the heartland of Illinois was a ferry ride over to Whidbey Island. We got an early start and made it over to the island by 11 AM. We went to Useless bay first and Bogie had a great time (as we did as well).





The weather was perfect for the beach walk and there was plenty of folks out there. A number of other dog walkers and bogie got to visit quite a bit.





We got right back on the ferry and some seagulls seemed quite interested in us for awhile. I guess we looked like marks for a good handout.

Jimi Hendrix Via A Pizza Box

He had lunch in the cafe within the Experience Music Project building by the Space Needle. It took awhile before I realized this image of Jimi Hendrix was made via pieces of a pizza boxes from a particular pizzeria!

Saturday Afternoon At The Needle

After Pikes Street Market, we cruised over to the Space Needle (another must do in Seattle visits). It was a nice day in which it was bright and sunny to the North East and cloudy on the South West. Made the walk around the needle all that much interesting.

Saturday Morning At Pikes Street Market

Rachel had heard that she just must visit Pikes Street Market on her visit to Seattle and I was more than happy to accommodate. Parking wasn’t too bad but the 2 hour limit in parking in downtown Seattle continues to be a major pain when doing the tourist related things. In fact, it killed the idea of doing the underground city tour because it is almost impossible to do that tour within two hours from placing money in the meter and rushing back at the end of the tour.



Two hours turned out to be just right as we sampled cheeses, fruits, vegetables, jams, jellies, nuts, honey, jerky and countless other wares. A very nice time and I need to make a visit to the market a more common event in my schedule!
