Saturday Afternoon At The Needle

After Pikes Street Market, we cruised over to the Space Needle (another must do in Seattle visits). It was a nice day in which it was bright and sunny to the North East and cloudy on the South West. Made the walk around the needle all that much interesting.

Saturday Morning At Pikes Street Market

Rachel had heard that she just must visit Pikes Street Market on her visit to Seattle and I was more than happy to accommodate. Parking wasn’t too bad but the 2 hour limit in parking in downtown Seattle continues to be a major pain when doing the tourist related things. In fact, it killed the idea of doing the underground city tour because it is almost impossible to do that tour within two hours from placing money in the meter and rushing back at the end of the tour.



Two hours turned out to be just right as we sampled cheeses, fruits, vegetables, jams, jellies, nuts, honey, jerky and countless other wares. A very nice time and I need to make a visit to the market a more common event in my schedule!

Friday Afternoon In Leavenworth Washington

I had my longtime friend from Illinois fly in to Seattle for a few days of site seeing and yesterday we made the trip over to Leavenworth. Thought it would be a good idea to go on a Friday, before the crowds start descending upon the town for their typical holiday activities. Had a nice drive up there on highway 2 and just a little bit of snow on the road at the upper portion of Stevens Pass.



We did the typical shopping but didn’t buy anything substantial. In fact, just some baked goods, one bottle of desert wine and lunch.

Only did one wine tasting but all the shops were available. Really liked all the sweeter wines here but their Merlot didn't do that much for me.

I started to do more camera shopping, meaning that I took pictures of things I thought I might purchase or might have purchased in better economic times. Like these frog sculptures for the bar or this very tacky sign for the office.



These were about $80 and just couldn't validate purchasing them with current economy slowdown.

Then please call me a redneck because I think every office is a bit more special with a pooch in them!

Sunday Afternoon At Saint Edwards State Park

Did my normal FileMaker morning blogging, ran to Target to try and get a Wii Fit (denied), did a little work for a client and then it was time to head out of the house. I wanted to do something different and we hadn’t been out to Saint Edwards State Park for awhile.



I’m really disappointed in some of the pictures I took and the fact they didn’t turn out very well. I guess it may be time for me to really learn what the specifications for a digital camera mean and stop getting what looks good when it comes up on Woot.com.



Anyway, it was a nice day out at Saint Eds and we both enjoyed the trails quite a bit. Lots of trail bikes, couples holding hands and dog walkers. Well worth the trip out and might consider doing it again next weekend (or earlier).

Yesterday On Centennial Trail

Wow, the sun came out yesterday and it was a fine day for a walk. Unfortunately, I had some programming to do for a customer and couldn’t do any significant trails. Plus I’ve learned that just because the sun is out here, doesn’t mean that it is out any trail with any real altitude.

I literally just opened the car door to do a quick clean and bogie hopped in. I shook my head and knew that he was right. So I gave up on the cleaning, grabbed my camera and we drove down to Centennial Trail.

Oh, I gotta get me one of these ...
